Review of BlackBerry Bold 9780

Fans of the BlackBerry Bold 9700 is waiting a chance to see how good RIM's latest flagship phone is. With the arrival of the BlackBerry Bold 9780, there are a few physical changes to note from its predecessor, the big news is the addition of the BlackBerry 6 operating system.

We've got the Social Feeds view, a new WebKit-based internet browser, Universal Search, a richer media experience and lots more besides.

The camera has been bumped up to five megapixels from the 9700's three, while the chrome edging has been toned back to black or white and the faux leather has also been dialed down.

Inside, the RAM has been doubled to 512MB from the 9700's 256MB. That's great news for the all-singing, all-multitasking new operating system. Yet, we're still looking at 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, the full QWERTY keyboard, 480x360 2.44-inch screen and a host of built-in apps, including BlackBerry Messenger and BlackBerry App World.

Another improvement they did on the latest Bold 9780 is the Chipset and Processor. The bold 9780 uses the same chipset and processor which found in the Torch 9800 series, which is clocked to 624MHz processor. Besides, the software updates have greatly improved the performance of 9870.

The latest BlackBerry Bold 9780 doubles up the internal flash memory from 256MB to 512MB, these memory uses in download and installing applications or storing browser cache and email inbox. Next, Bold 9780 capable to supported up to 32GB of external memory card.

When topic comes to battery life, it depends how heavy the user reliable on the device. From the research, usually a Bold 9780 can last for 1-2 days if running less applications. On the other hand, if users using web browsing or social networking very often, there it will minimize the battery life in a fully charge.

The BlackBerry Bold 9780 features the same 5.0 megapixel camera that is in the BlackBerry Torch, and I've found it's performance to be the same for me.

Lastly, the conclusion from me Bold 9780 is better than the previous model Bold 9700. It running the latest OS 6 bundle with the 5MP camera, supporting 32GB external memory card, having a faster Processor which is 624MHz and 512MB of flash memory. Yet, due to the price reason, tight budget user they might still consider getting a old one because it already powerful enough to use in a lot purposes.
